I'm a fan of the so-called minor characters--McGonagall (my fave), Neville, Luna, Fred and George, Angelina, Colin Creevey, Cho, etc.

I love new takes on old relationships, though I have a real hard time reading slash (unless it's backed up by believable background, plot twists, and characterizations.)  I have no use for gratuitous violence.

I also like well-fleshed-out, invented characters.  Grace HasVictory's Ariadne McDougal/Remus Lupin ship comes to mind, as does the character of Alexandra in Cheryl78's 'The Snake and the Eagle.'

What if Voldemort chose to mark Neville as his equal instead of Harry? That's the question that this story sets out to answer. Deals mostly with his childhood to date.

That's 'wither' not 'whither' (not even in Brit-speak i don't think.)

T-shirts with a mild cheering charm--perfect for adults shepherding loquacious children about a fair that won't open for another half hour.

Oh gawd, the trick was brilliant!!!  ***laughing uncontrollably and its AYF***

Aw...love the way te bys cheer Lily up, especially Neville's:

“Then there’s no reason to be sad, ‘cause Gran says everyone’s happy there, and one day we’ll all be together again, right?”

The best reason for magic--two messy little boys in the kitchen.

I'm glad they met Hermione.  Interesting that she didn't know what she was doing was magic until they told her.  A very natural way to get young pre-Hogwarts kids together

Hermione and Augusta is a neat conversation.  An Augusta suggeating a Muggle car for school.  Love it all.

You explain Hermione's personality--not just her precocity, but her loneliness--with a stillborn younger sister.  That makes sense.  The laughter goes out of the house; her mother treats her as a small adult.

Chapter 26: Chapter 26

Harry Potter's new adventure into awkward indoctrination. HPPH/HPYR/RPYH

No straining of the brain for me.  I just loved the story.  A romp--and love the vegan refs.  And the description of Dudley reminds me of an old Garfield cartoon where he was in much the same shape, his define moment being when Jon says, "Garfield, look at you. You can't even see your feet anymore," and Garfield replies, "Feet?  I have feet?"

Cheers!

Bellatrix Lestrange isn't sure what she believes. Rodolphus helps her figure out where she stands in a war where darkness is consuming. Post-HBP; oneshot.

If there was one thing she hated more than not having answers, it was being told them by someone who had no right to be right.

And that vow! Crackling with emotion and energy.

Sorry, scratch those last two.  I don't know how they printed.  (Hope someone in Admin deletes them.)

Anyway I wanted to say how much I like this.  You set and hold the mood and characterizations exceptionally  well.

Under your pen, Bella burns; her passion stings.  You've gotten to the core of her persona: a brilliant, warped, energetic woman driven over the edge by jealousy and thwarted ambition.  And your wit makes us almost enjoy it:

"If there was one thing she hated more than not having answers, it was being told them by someone who had no right to be right."

And that marriage/initiation vow crackles with emotion and energy.

 Write on, oh Lady!
