I'm a fan of the so-called minor characters--McGonagall (my fave), Neville, Luna, Fred and George, Angelina, Colin Creevey, Cho, etc.

I love new takes on old relationships, though I have a real hard time reading slash (unless it's backed up by believable background, plot twists, and characterizations.)  I have no use for gratuitous violence.

I also like well-fleshed-out, invented characters.  Grace HasVictory's Ariadne McDougal/Remus Lupin ship comes to mind, as does the character of Alexandra in Cheryl78's 'The Snake and the Eagle.'

I like your Minerva and your Nicolas Flamel. The dialogue is very realistic. I'm not really into Harry stories though--other than the originals--so I'll just sign off here. Best of luck.

Chapter 1: Prologue: Circles

Harry's summer takes a bizarre turn as he's subjected to the strangest dream he's ever had. What does it mean, and why does he get the feeling that Voldemort is somehow related to it?

What a great, creeeepy dream sequence.  Just like something out of The Twilight Zone.  Everybody except Harry eerily calm and knowing.  I've had nightmares like this--and I do not want another.  But I'm glad you've written more anyway. : )  Just hope all the chapters arent' quite... so... scary...

Chapter 1: The Astronomy Tower
Arthur Weasley is your average young Wizard: shy, timid, messed up. He parted coldly from the girl he loves and he works all summer long for the day he'll see her again. But everything seems to go downhill. Or is it? A romantic one-shot written for the FA V-day challenge. (Molly/Arthur)

Ah, you really know just how it feels, this love thing.  All the emotions, the thoughts, the pain are there, and in the right order too. You got me thinking back to...well you know...those days...Anyway, thanks.  I've got a tear in my eye just thinking about it.

Chapter 1: Have I told you lately that I love you?
The Awakening Power by Sib [Mid Teens]
starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 15]
Challenges fill Harry’s busy sixth year: growing powers, Snape becomes defense teacher (and Harry’s not in the mood for abuse), a new Potions teacher, a girl with a new crush on him, Quidditch, Voldemort, and a certain redheaded girl named Ginny who may help him through all of it. What are the goblins up to? Will Ron win Hermione back? And what exactly is Voldemort’s diabolical plan to kill Harry and plunge magical society into anarchy? Lots of romance, drama, action and humor!

Love Ginny's novel.  So like all the ones in the supermarket:

"...the cover... showed a well-muscled wizard with torn robes embracing a well-endowed witch with long silky hair, who was wearing an elaborate, frilly green robe...the wind ruffled their hair as the wizard slowly leaned in to kiss the witch."

Very interesting use of the Pensieve, and very comforting for Harry to be able to see his parents loving him.

Chapter 5: Chapter 4: The Marauders
And Fate Be by Seren [All Ages]
starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 4]
"No one stops to consider for a moment why I'm so dependent on those books of mine, why I have so many. I am different. I do not prattle, I seek knowledge, and truth. I want permission to be myself. I want to walk down the halls of my school, of my world, without hearing the half-whispered remarks about me. I want to sit with my friends, and know that they appreciate my company, and not the fact that I can revise their homework. I want to live." A moment in Hermione's life, where she contemplates her past, present, and future.

Love your hermione--independent, compassionate, strong-willed.

I especially like and agree with these observations:

"... whenever I point out that some Muggle things, like stitches or tellies, work rather well, [mages] simply brush it off, as if it's somehow not good enough for them.

"...it's Saturday, and I think I'll wear my plain blue shirt and pyjama bottoms. And the first person who makes a smart remark gets a smack in the head, Muggle style."

You go, girl!

When she dances, the world stops for a moment to let her breathe. She knows she's not alone. Not by a long shot. There's life everywhere. If only people know where to look for it, then things would be so much better. A Ravenclaw should know better, but she doesn't.

Love her mother's advice and the names she gives her daughter.

Love this image: "The creatures of the Forest love her as one of their own. Even the Centaurs will dare not touch her when she makes her way around. Luna's something different, something sacred to the Forest."

I just adore your Luna, like a fae herself, ligt as air, transparent to judgmental types, her mother's voice always in her mind.

Neville Longbottom is a shy, bumbling child, teased by his classmates and bullied by his grandmother. So why does he even try? Courage doesn't always roar.

Great sketch of Neville.  Love his take on Draco's choice of a date.

Interesting idea that Neville might have inherited his father's wand and that it may not have been the prefect fit for him.  That would explain a lot.

Seven Long Months by Rainbow [Mid Teens]

It has been seven long months since that night. On the seven-month anniversary of Voldemort's fall, most people are still mourning the loss of loved ones and a hero. A hero who should have had much longer to live…

I'm glad you decided to share this piece.  Each of us has the need to explore the themes of loss and grief and even death, and you've done a very good job of it.  With themes of Harry's defeat of Voldemort and the memories of happier times with hs friends, you've made his death meaningful and understandable.

I found your description of  Ron finding Harry's body and his hesitation to open the box Harry gave him particularly poignant.

The piece doesn't wallow in sadness though. Hermione's baking frenzy, her thoughts on having babies with Ron, and the memory of the tart-eating contest provided a bit of needed, wry relief for me.

Thanks for both: the pain and the humor.

Author's Response: Thank you so much.  I appreciate your taking the time to review.  =)  This just made my day, although I'm two months and one day late replying to it.

I like the sensations the rain makes too.  And 'bucktoothed banshee'--Ouch! Perfectly Draco.

Great arguments! I'd love to see this as an outtake for one of the Potter movies.
