"Man is not an end but a beginning. We are at the beginning of the second week. We are children of the eighth day." ~Thornton Wilder In the aftermath of the second war, nothing has worked out exactly the way anyone thought that it would. The end that everyone sought never came, and life, as they say, went on for the children of the eighth day. A collection of short stories about the lives that were changed by the second war. [Begun before HBP, and therefore AU past OotP.]

The tense in this chapter felt a bit forced, but it was a good one. Your character interactions are really very believable. And you didn't overdo the twinspeak! I'm impressed.

My goodness, but your writing of these charcters and their dialogue is marvelously perceptive. This... this is amazing. I am falling in love with this story.

Brilliant.

Ah! Amazing. I love the way you write, and can't wait to see how this all comes together. Keep up the brilliance!

Chapter 4: Still Here
Arthur M. by Madeline Fabray [Young Teens]

Heavily based on William Shakespeare's "Macbeth," with Arthur Weasley as Macbeth. Written before HBP was published.

Fabulous writing, as always. I look forward to finding time to finish reading this!

Chapter 1: Prologue

When Dumbledore told him that death was the next great adventure, Harry hadn’t thought he’d meant it quite so literally. PostHBP.

*snerk*

Somehow, I forgot about this one. Sexysexual.

If snerking was an actual verb people used in real life, I would have committed it everytime I read the word sexysexual.

Seriously, I can't stop. It's like a snort halfway down my throat. You're making my brain giggle. Not allowed.

Have I told you before that it's really not fair for you to be equally good at writing humorous drabbles and angsty sentences? The gods really love you, or something.

Author's Response:

Dude.  Now I have a really, REALLY strange mental image of a drunk brain, giggling and hiccuping.

Forget the gods loving me.  I AM A GOD.  Um.  (Have I mentioned my ego\'s out of control?)

Chapter 1: None

What if Harry didn't grow up with the Dursleys? What if, after all those threats, they finally left him at an orphanage? Is our hero still the same? It seems the wizarding world is in for a surprise... AU, first year.

Ah! I was thinking I'd read this before, and now I remember it. I'm so thrilled to see it here - it's one of my favorite Harry+orphanage stories. Can't wait to read it here (like it's new! haha!).

Chapter 2: Breaking and Entering
War is hell. Years after the Final Battle, the man remembers, and writes the letter he has written so many times before. [Post Hogwarts; one shot]

That was wonderful and brilliant and lovely, and I understand completely why it was recc'd.

I wish the beginning had signified more clearly that it was a letter, but beyond that this was great.

((Also, Postal Service = <3))

Chapter 1: Sub-Chapter

This is a oneshot, post-final battle type thing...I wasn't really sure what category it belonged in, so I kind of stuck it here.

Garnet Snitch by Lell [All Ages]

He had it all: the perfect bachelor pad, two great best friends, a Quidditch career any first-year ever dreamed of…and every weekend free of dates. Until Ginny Weasley came back into his life, Harry was quite happy to be aloof. But now he is about to discover that if you play too close to the fire, you’re eventually going to get burnt.

I read this this morning, and I felt randomly compelled to come back and review it. Yay! Anyway, I really like this. It's starting well, and I can't wait to see how it develops. Your characters are spot on - I particularly love your Ron, he's perfect - and the dialouge is great. Well, just didn't want to let this go without comment. Great job, and I can't wait for more! Thanks, and do take care!

“That’s right,” I countered, “All these years you thought I had been asleep that night, but I know–”

Hahahaha. This is marvelous... your writing is excellent, but you should know that by now. Just had to thank you for the laughs in here! Rock on!
