An interesting little story, very different. It could use more polish - you separated the end there, but I'm really not sure why - but I think you did a good job with this. It was refreshing.

150 points is really quite a lot, though. Maybe try a smaller number, like eighty or so.

Author's Response: I wrote this story over a year ago and I'm glad you like it.  The reason I separated the end was that at the time I was exploring actually writing Professor McGonagall's confrontation of Severus Snape.  After several false starts I gave up: I was never satisfied with the results and thought the story still had merit without that scene.  Thanks for your review.

Giving high school essays a Marauder twist, this fiction is centered around the idea that some seniors in high school are require to write a letter to incoming freshman before they graduate. At Hogwarts, Seventh Years are given an assignment to write such a letter for the new First Years. Sirius decides to actually take an assignment, well seriously...sort of. Alright, well, I've read this fic about a bazillion times, but I know I haven't reviewed it on here and I don't remember reviewing the early chapters on PhoenixSong or anywhere else. So, I thought I'd leave you a note here as I'm rereading to let you know that this is my absolute favorite chapter (although I adore the first chapter of this story to itty bitty emotional pieces as well) out of everything you've written. The dialouge and thoughts in this just seem to come together so naturally, and your emotions are at their truest.
