Hiya! I'm a 31-year-old Buckeye who is addicted to Harry Potter (but hey, aren't we all?) I work for a company that publishes local weekly papers and have gone back to school full time for my MLIS. Most of my peers think I'm insane, and I don't contradict them.

In the evolution of a person, our personality grows, shifts, dies and is reborn again. Our views morph and grow, like a butterfly from its cocoon. But there's a price to pay for everything. Evolution is always painful. Contains Blaise/Hermione and mild Neville/Padma. Written Pre-HBP.

Heh heh heh heh heh. This whole chapter was good -- I just love your turns of phrase -- but Orla Quirke chewing out Dumbledore was priceless!

You do a lot with less than 700 words. I'm still grinning, this was cute beyond belief! The second sentence had me cracking up.

Oh, how sad! Not sure I could say I "enjoyed" this, but it was well-written and emotionally heart-rending. Talk about survivor's guilt. I'd lament that it was a shame there was no one there at the time to stop Harry and talk to him, but...that's the point, isn't it? Everyone around him is gone. *sniff*

Author's Response: It was meant to be sad... I have absolutely no idea what I was thinking while I wrote it, though. Thanks for the review!

Chapter 1: The Boy Who Lived
As the Wall Crumbles by Aequitas [Young Teens]
starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 4]

She laughs and turns, eyes set on the door on the other side of the kitchen. Her hand touches the doorknob, cold but inviting. Light envelops her as she steps out into her imagination. Open the door, child, her grandmother once said to her. Your imagination is waiting. On a beautiful summer afternoon, a child learns of her two worlds--reality and imagination--and what she must do only six years later in order to keep both in existence.

The writing style took some getting used to, but I like. Very original. This made me think of Alice In Wonderland -- I'm not quite sure why. I do like the ending. I imagine there must have been times when Hermione did second-guess her choice to embrace her magical self.

Author's Response: I love Alice in Wonderland! I hope it reminds you because of the fantastical, dreamlike quality. :) I'm glad you like! Caren.

Again, I so envy your ability to capture so much in such a short story. You have Luna's eccentricity and her heart beautifully portrayed here. And Dumbledore's chair -- "the wood sagging with memory and grief" -- wow, just wow.

This was hysterical! I loved Ginny's entrance, and the "bacon?" -- but that bit at the end with the Silencio that wasn't entirely had me rolling! Your comic timing is right on!

Holy cow, how do you do it? In less than 400 words, you paint a portrait of insanity, selfishness...and heartbreak. Your talent is enviable!

Chapter 1: A Simple Request

Horrifying, that Harry would be used and trained as a weapon. It fits, though. I think dialogue could give this an additional "punch," but you are off to a good start.

A bit of an inconsistency between the first and second chapters: at the end of the first one, I had the distinct impression that Harry/Jason could hear. However, I do like the idea, I've never really seen anything like this done before, with Harry losing his hearing. I'm rather curious about the interview, especially if anyone from the "old crowd" (Dumbledore, McGonagall, Flitwick, etc) are still there.
