Hiya! I'm a 31-year-old Buckeye who is addicted to Harry Potter (but hey, aren't we all?) I work for a company that publishes local weekly papers and have gone back to school full time for my MLIS. Most of my peers think I'm insane, and I don't contradict them.

A well-done -- if sad -- inner dialogue of Draco.

No, he could never take down his shell. He would never be able to for as long as he lived, for shells are there for a reason.

I really liked this, very moving. You want to shake Draco, but would that even work. And at the end, he's trapped in that shell, and knows it.

Author's Response:

Thanks, April! Yeah, that line is one of my favorites in this story. And yep, he's not going to find a way to take it down, hehe. Thanks, again. :D

Awww...*sniff* This actually brough tears to my eyes. That was just lovely. I just love young Neville's reactions, then him filling up that book, to start a new one.  A beautiful story!

I love the inner struggle with Draco, and the struggle between Draco and Snape. It's interesting how Snape seems to feign disinterest -- is he still under the curse, and is forced to protect Draco. And doesn't want to admit it? Hmmm.

James to Lily was my first thought, but I see what you mean. This can apply to any of our favorite couples. An excellent poem, thank you for sharing.

Author's Response: I'm so very, very glad that you think my poem is good and agree that it can apply to several ships! **

I really like the play on words with your title -- it can be taken in a couple different ways. I love how Sirius clings to Harry's memory, it seems beyond the others, like a drowning man clutching at flotsam. Nice! Interesting story, all in all. Great imagry. Sirius' losing himself is well-written as he stays longer and longer.

Author's Response: Thank you! I really enjoyed writing this. It was so challenging to try and get that madness just right. I'm glad you liked reading it.

Chapter 1: Black Eternity

An interesting beginning. How is Harry going to get out of this one? Heh, how are his aunt and uncle going to react, hee hee...

Author's Response:

*has serious writer's block*

Yep. That was one of my main points in chapter #2, their reaction. I couldn't help laughing myself when I wrote it, though, so you should enjoy it. But I'm stuck at like 1500 words. :P

Chapter 1: Prologue: A Night of Tears and Cigarettes

Pansy has the ideal life. She has married into the richest family alive, she is the mother of a beautiful son - she has everything anyone could ever dream of, but it does not give her the satisfaction she had once thought it would. One day, when a strange letter arrives, Pansy is forced to reconsider her choices. Are there any second chances? Pansy/Luna, mentions of Ginny/Luna and Harry/Draco.

You;ve managed to assemble a heartbreaking tale, with equal amounts of love and hurt. You feel sorry for Draco and Pansy, and Luna. They are all trapped. And the cycle begins again with poor Arrakis. Imagine being told by mum that she didn't choose your dad! Ouch!

Chapter 1: Written

She wakes up and doesn't remember. Anything at all. They tell her that her name is Luna Lovegood, but how can they be sure? Everything seems to be but broken pieces of a puzzle - her history seems to be as mysterious as the hidden, dark side of the moon. She wants to know who she is - and what does the girl in the picture have to do with anything?

A Luna Lovegood, with amnesia. That is a brain-pretzel right there, but this is ingenious. I love the use of flowers -- white roses (innocence), pansies. The use of color --very symbolic. The mirror. Heh, and the best thing is that even though Luna doesn't know who she is... it's still her, in many ways. Her observations about Hermione, while odd, were spot on and perfect Luna logic. The scene with Luna's father was just heart-breaking, especially when Luna finds out later.

Chapter 1: Luna's Diary

Pansy remembers being a little girl in frilly dresses - back then the world was simple. Now she is forced to grow up and the world is changing around her, too fast for her dreams to follow.

You pack a lot of emotion and action in a few words! I just love the comparison of Pansy and a doll. Her disjointed thoughts add to the depth and emotion. I like the addition of Luna at the end.
