When Harry Potter is assigned to Maggie Thompson's sixth year class at the Little Whinging Junior School, the young teacher instantly takes a liking to the strange but sweet boy. As their friendship grows over the years, Maggie gets drawn into a mysterious and exciting world that she never could have imagined.
I really enjoyed this fic, and I wonder what would have been the effects on Harry's self-confidence if he had had a teacher such as Ms. Maggie during his days in Muggle primary! I, too, am an American schoolteacher, and I really enjoyed your portrayal of the "first-day jitters" as well as Maggie's determination to be fair to her incoming students!
I'm really starting to like Miss Thompson! She seems like just the kind of teacher Harry needs, and I'm looking forward to watching both of their characters develop as you continue the story.
It's neat the way you wound the story of Sirius and Pettigrew into her "dream" tale. I wonder if that was just a fun anecdote meant to amuse Harry, or if it was shades of the future? I hope to see more soon!
As soon as Harry saves Ginny, in the Chamber of Secrets, they disappear. Thought to be dead by most, they suddenly show up again years later, greatly changed.
I like the beginning of this story - it's intruiging. I'm usually not too in to "alternate universe" stories - I'm more of a canon kind of girl. This one, though, seems like it's going to be worth the read. I look forward to seeing how it develops!
You've definitely gotten me curious - as I'm sure was your intent - about where Harry and Ginny have been, etc. And what does Van Helsig have to do with it? That's intruiging, too!
While fighting the war at Hogwarts, Harry witnesses a red haired wonder that will change his life forever.
An interesting start to an AU story!
I'm interested to know how he did it...and what became of the prophecy? How was LV reborn?
Interesting take on the Weasley family. On to the next chapter!
Yay! The proposal!
Interesting way to bring in the American culture - Jack Daniels! :) I liked the bit about Molly sneaking sips from Arthur's glass.
I think the wedding was a little too muggle, but it sounds beautiful all the same. Yay for a happy ending!
