Apocalypticat is a seventeen-year-old cartoonist and amateur writer. She hopes to study English Literature at uni and would very much like to make the transition from writer to author at some point. Her writing sadly leaves very little time for reading, due to her foolishness in attempting to write three things at once.

Arthur Weasley is your average young Wizard: shy, timid, messed up. He parted coldly from the girl he loves and he works all summer long for the day he'll see her again. But everything seems to go downhill. Or is it? A romantic one-shot written for the FA V-day challenge. (Molly/Arthur)

That made me SQUEE! That was incredibly well-written and Arthur was so indecisive and likable that a reader can easily take on his skin! I love the origin of the Burrow. Bravo!

Chapter 1: Have I told you lately that I love you?
NOW COMPLETE!  It is summer, just before the adventures of DH will begin. Hermione and the ghost of Sirius Black form a most unlikely partnership to save the soul of their recently deceased Headmaster from a true fate worse than death.  (No DH Spoilers, but lots of speculations about the Beyond.)

Ooh! Splendid stuff! I love the way you described Hermione's thoughts, and I have to say that Hermione-the-flawed made a nice change from the usual Hermione-the-absolutely-perfect victim of Ron-the-dimwit. Very grotesque imagery with the Headmaster; you've made me quite frantic about him.

Author's Response:

I once actually thought that Hermione was perfect (being a lot like her myself), but then I entered this summer writing challenge at Sugar Quill, from which this story stems.  The person moderating the challenge contended that Hermione had a great many faults and that she needed to be taken down a peg for them.  The tasks were designed to make her see her own flaws.  Merlin, did that open my eyes!

Still smashing! Though I swear I got a whiff of Pratchett in the explanation part (a pleasant whiff; I like Pratchett) but I supposed that's none too surprising when Death is involved.

Author's Response: Indeed, it is a very deliberately Pratchett Death.  I've read several of the 'Discworld' series and enjoyed them very much.

Ah, Dante! A wonderful guy. I got a bit confused with the explanation, but it was as smashing as the previous two.

Author's Response:

The original challenge at SQ was titled 'Hermione's Inferno', and the tasks were inspired by the various levels of Dante's hell.   I've had to change the plot considerably to keep it in canon, since the challenge was created before HBP.  A challenge in itself, and possibly the reason for your confusion. I'm still wrestling with the workings of the Afterlife in the Potterverse, and the real meaning of the Veil/Portal.

Aberforth was exactly how I imagine him. Great stuff! I loved some of the descriptions, particularly applying to Ab. Abnormal indeed!

Author's Response: I confess, I'm guilty of stealing again, this time from 'young Frankenstein' when Igor thinks the abnormal brain he steals belonged to someone named 'Abby Normal'.

*Bounces* I await an update eagerly.

Author's Response: *Blushes*  Thanks.  Enjoy!
