I've got a few stories up here, although I tend to upload stories up onto first because of how fast the submission process is there.

As of February 2, 2007: I'm now on the mod team here at, which is pretty nifty, but that doesn't mean I won't have any less time to write. :)

I thought it was funny that Colin was bringing Harry some grapes... makes you wonder about him, doesn't it?  I like this story so far.  Keep it up!

Author's Response: Dear VacantSkies, It is the standard thing in Britain to bring grapes as a present for invalids. But I do wonder where Colin bought the grapes - he isn't old enough to be allowed to go to Hogsmeade, and his parents are Muggles. However, a true fan-boy will always find a way to honour his hero! Hey Cyborg,

I thought this chapter was written well.  I liked the weird creepiness of Timmy and I also thought the idea of wandering through a deserted and ruined Diagon Alley was pretty sweet.  Hopefully we'll learn more soon - keep writing!

A girl. A boy. A problem. A complication. Several cliches. A resolution. A twist. The H/Hr ship that sails because all H/Hr sips have sunk.

Is it more common in British culture for cousins to be together in "that way"?  I had no idea, since I'm an American.  I have to say though, that this story was interesting!

At first I was convinced that nothing out of the ordinary (besides a little H/Hr love) was going on...and then there was that twist at the end.  :D  Well done.

Author's Response:

Dear VacantSkies,

Yes, it is both legal and socially acceptable in Britain for first cousins to marry. Queen Victoria did it, and who is to argue with her example? However, it isn't actively promoted, and there probably are pockets of society that would disapprove. I suspect it would be more common among wizards, so the debate about whether it would be desirable would be a little hotter.

I'm afraid I wrote this story to poke fun at the Shipping Wars (back in 2003, when they were at their height), because I think people should remember that these are only fictitious characters. I'm glad I put a smile in your day.

Thanks for reviewing, GhV

Chapter 1: Restricted
starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 4]
Lily has not had the best of summers; the war against Lord Voldemort is at its worst. Her mother is dead and her best friends are growing ever more distant, caught up in their own lives. Everyone and everything is changing; even Lily herself is not the same, carefree girl she used to be. But among all the change, one thing stays the same: James's love for Lily. *Banners are welcome and would be much appreciated.

I liked the newspaper headlines :D

Author's Response: LOL, thanks...well, we need some humour sometimes, right? ;)

I always enjoy reading stories that portray Peter Pettigrew as something more than just a heartless traitor - stories like this one.  I'm a believer that there's something more going on in his head than simply a burning desire for personal gain, or for protection.  "Doesn't he ever feel guilty?  Will he ever stand up to Voldemort?"  are a few of the thoughts that have crossed my mind before.

Restrospection had a sad ending, but a fitting one nonetheless.  Even though Peter finally showed his true Gryffindor colors (!) at the very end by protecting Harry, it was too little and too late after the other atrocities he'd committed in years past.  While it was a great act of his, he still didn't deserve to live.  However, what really made the ending even better was the fact that Peter wasn't murdered or executed, he chose to take his own life.

Two thumbs up ;)

Chapter 1: Retrospection

"I loved you then, and whatever sin it is, I love you still!" Hermione Granger never imagined that her wildest fantasy of being with James Potter could some true. But while for Hermione it had just been yesterday, for James it had been nineteen years ago. A sweeping tale of how love transcends time, just to prove it can. [James/Hermione]

This story is probably my favorite one I've seen on this site ever.  Keep up the wonderful job!

Author's Response: Wow, that was so sweet. :) Thank you! :)

Chapter 14: Intertwined
Reviewer: VacantSkies (Signed)

I really loved this line: “Just remember to be yourself — your more sensitive self, that is.”

I thought this chapter had the right amount of humor and drama in it that they each balanced each other out and made it very enjoyable to read.  The relationships you've got between the characters are so sad!  Poor James, Hermione, and Remus...none of them are having any luck with their love lives, are they? :)

I think I caught a line about halfway through your story that was a play on your name; you mentioned something like, "The cold sky opened up and torrents poured from the heavens." Rain from heave?  Ha, could just me being overly analytical about these things.

Anyway, I hope you don't let the few reviews you've received keep you from writing - I would love to see this story completed and I'm sure many other people would too.

Author's Response: Thank you! :) I'm glad I didn't overdo any of the humour/drama part. Uhm, yeah, that was sort of a play on my name. LOL.

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 --- Let Me Be Your Wings
Reviewer: VacantSkies (Signed)

Haha, I loved the “I didn’t mean a could-you-repeat-what-you-said what; I meant a what-do-you-think-you’re-saying what!” throughout the story.  I also really liked the line where one of the Marauders is talking about Snape's hair and he says it's full of 'oil and potential'.

All in all, another great chapter!  I do have to wonder, though, things can't go perfectly from here on out, can they?  Remus and Lily are still somehow connected into this weird convoluted love square, so I'm really anxious to see the next installment!

Author's Response:

Haha. I enjoyed that 'what' thing too, as well as that crack on Snape's hair. It was Sirius who said that. LOL.

Well, for at least three more chapters maybe, things will be happy for James and Hermione. Why things fall apart.. well, I can't say that just yet. Thank you for reviewing! :)
