After the horrifying events of Harry Potter and the Loss of Innocence, Harry finds himself back at the Dursleys. After the end of his fifth year at Hogwarts Harry is left to deal with immense loss and an immense burden. It is enough to break anybody and Harry is but a 16 yr old. Voldemort is gaining in power and suddenly nothing and nowhere is safe. Harry will have to lay a stone on his heart and ruthlessly set aside his needs to survive the year. But what will he do when he realizes that by doing this he is running away from his very reason to live. His reason to fight.

Now that Voldemort has been defeated, Harry settles down to play international Quidditch. But just as he gets on the team, an urgent letter arrives from an illegal Aruor association to help deal with a growing gang of Death Eaters the Ministry—which is "pulling a Fudge"—refuses to believe exists. But Harry has to keep his new life a secret from everyone who's close to him, including a secret he's had for years now, a secret which is more responsibility than he's ever known before.
