Fatima has had a love affair with the written word since she was five years old and writing down the adventures of Barbie, the International Spy.  Her father is a James Bond fanatic; what can you do?  She received her B.A. in English Writing from DePauw University, and went on to make her debut in the publishing world with several freelance stories and books written for White Wolf Games, Inc.  She has made a brief foray into fan-fiction with her novel-length work, A Voice Upon The Waves, which can be found on the Muggle Net Fan Fiction archive.  However, she prefers to write original fiction, often allowing her fan-fic to go un-updated for woefully long stretches of time!  Currently, Fatima is working on a paranormal romance novel.  This challenge was set by her wonderful, long-time friend, Phaedra Weldon, whose own novel of the paranormal, Wraith, is set for publication sometime in mid-2007.  From time to time, Fatima will update her LiveJournal page with excerpts and snippets of things she is currently writing.  As her journal is "Friends Only", you should send her a PM or an email if you would like to be added.

Excellent work!  Your narrator has such a strong voice that it makes it very easy for the reader to come into the story and sympathize with her.  The humor is brilliant!  I laughed at Trevor's being not quite so useful as a rock and his charred-log meatloaf.  Very well done!

Author's Response: Thank you!! *feels all warm and fuzzy inside* I'm really glad you could feel at least a bit of closeness to Heather, as I did while I was writing it. Again, thank you so much!

This was AMAZING!  I think you managed to capture all of the wonderful nuances of being that young and that innocent.  I also felt that the heartbreak at the end was so striking and poignant.  Children can be cruel to one another, but not so much as when they're in front of other friends.  This was just brilliant!
