What a very cool glimpse into Carlisle's thoughts.  I liked his sense of honor - it reminded me of Edward's responses to Bella when she wanted to be with him before they were married, about propriety and honor.  I also liked hearing his thoughts about going from a companion-type relationship with Edward to a truly grounded family with permanent ties of love.  You did a great job with characterization here.

I am glad to see that this is not completed.  I do look forward to your next chapter.  I love how you captured my attention right from the beginning.  You did a wonderful job.  :)
