After rereading your story (can't get too much of a good thing), I have a question: if Lily is not related to Petunia, how can Dumbledore's blood wards work?

That's just a small glitch though.  I agree with other reviewers that this one-shot would make a great jumping off point for a full length fic.

BTW, I failed to mention in my other review that Snape's ruminations on how abuse and neglect can make a child a perfect candidate for Slytherin was spot-on.  Are you a psychologist by any chance?

An alternate family tree for Harry--how intriguing!  And I love your capture of missing moments from his horrendous childhood.

You should make this part of a chaptered-fic, or do other one shots dealing with reactions to Harry's newfound bloodline.  Such as would he still become Ginny's boyfriend, ect.  How the Weasleys deal with their new wealth, (as we know Harry would have gladly, even when he didn't know have given them money, and now he can hopefully convince them easier), that sort of thing.  I know the Ginny part doesn't really take shape until HBP, but it was brewing in OOtP.

Interesting. Your stories always manage to draw me in, despite the AU/OOC qualities of them. Great writing, and this was in interesting little piece.
