This was amazing. Wow. I love trauma fic, it's the best kind. Hermione has a very clear narrative voice, even though you've chosen to write it in second person's point of view (which I adore, don't worry). The friendship and need in the Trio interaction is wonderful. So much love for this. So much love.

I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone tackle cancer in the Wizarding world -- certainly not like this. I really liked the constant ticking of the clock as Hermione waits.

I'm confused. If Hermione hasn't ever smoked is there a reason she's stricken with lung cancer? You don't say why and it seems to me that she would ask that question herself. Criticisms aside, you've written a very nice story. Your characterizations are very believable, especially that Ron doesn't understand what's to happen to Hermione and that Harry does and can even tease her about it a little. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Author's Response: First of all, thanks for your review. I'm always happy to get criticism from my readers, so to speak. As to the confusion, I admit, it was my fault. But not only smoking can cause lung cancer: ""Competing risk factors" such as secondhand smoke, asbestos, radon, occupational exposures, age, race, sex, and heredity also may play a role in lung cancer development (see Lung Cancer Risk Factors). " In Hermione's case, it would be hereditary. Hope that clears something up. :) Thanks again!
